Player Bio

Raj Angad Bawa is a left-handed batsman and bowls right-arm medium-fast. Hailing from Chandigarh, Bawa is known for his hard-hitting style and has a knack for picking up crucial wickets.

Bawa is a natural batsman with proper technique, but he was very impressive at the U-12 level with his bowling skills.

He was in an odd situation during his teenage career when his father compelled him to stop bowling for a good five years. He wanted his child to concentrate on improving his batting skills despite the fact that he was a fast-bowling all-rounder by then.

The southpaw was selected for the India U-19 team taking part in the Asia Cup and had a fantastic outing there. He scored 91 runs in the tournament and picked up eight wickets.

Later, Bawa was selected to represent the 'Men in Blue' in the 2022 edition of the ICC U-19 World Cup. He impressed throughout the tournament and broke the record of getting the highest individual score for any Indian U-19 batter. He scored a mammoth 162 runs off just 108 balls against Uganda in the group stages.

On the back of Raj Bawa's all-round performance, India beat England by four wickets in Antigua to secure their fifth ICC U-19 World title. He was the 'Player of the Match' in the final and the world had started noticing this talented bloke.

Later in the 2022 edition of the IPL auction, Raj Bawa was bought by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for INR 2 crores.
