Player Bio

Hailing from Delhi, Yash Dhull is the new superstar from the U-19 prodigies who has already made his mark at a very young age. The young bloke led India to victory in the 2021-22 edition of U-19 Asia Cup and U-19 World Cup.

The right-handed middle-order batter has also represented Delhi U-14, U-16 and U-19. Dhull’s mother, Neelam Singh, spotted her son’s love for the game and enrolled his name in the cricket academy at the age of 4.

Dhull rose to prominence after his brilliant 186 against Punjab in the Vijay Merchant Trophy. The 19-year-old was the leading run-scorer for Delhi in Vinoo Mankad Trophy after piling 302 runs in that season with a scintillating average of 75.5 in 5 matches. After his heroics in the domestic circuit, he was named as the skipper of the India U-19 team for the Asia Cup and Cricket World Cup (CWC).

The Delhi-born lad scored brilliant 82 runs in the opening game of U-19 CWC against South Africa, leading to a comfortable victory. But unfortunately, he was struck with the deadly Covid-19 virus and missed the latter part of the tournament.

Post-recovery, Dhull smashed 110 runs from as many deliveries against Australia in the semi-finals and took his team to the U-19 World Cup final. Then, on February 5, 2022, he led India to another U-19 World Cup glory by beating England comprehensively.

After tge World Cup, Dhull was named in Delhi’s squad for the 2022 season of the Ranji Trophy. On his debut, he announced himself with a score of 113 runs from 150 balls against Tamil Nadu at Guwahati. He amassed 479 runs in just six innings and was the 5th highest run-scorer of the tournament until the league stages.

Delhi Capitals (DC) sealed the deal with him at his base price of 50 lakhs in the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. The talented bloke is undoubtedly someone to watch out for in the coming years.
