Hailing from Delhi, Angkrish was born into a family with a rich sporting lineage. His father was a tennis player, while his mother represented India in basketball. His brother plays tennis.

He started his cricketing journey under the coaching of Mansoor Ali Khan in Gurgaon. He went to Mumbai to train with Abhishek Nayar on the advice of his uncle Sahil Kukreja, who is a former Mumbai opener.

After spending time with Nayar, the Delhi-born shifted to Mumbai because he felt there was more scope for growth in the City of Dreams.

Rising through the ranks in age-group cricket, he won the Vijay Merchant Trophy with the Mumbai U-16 side in 2019. He smashed 214 runs in the U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2021. The opener amassed 141 runs in five games while playing for India E in the Challenger Trophy 2021.

Angkrish represented India A U-19 in the tri-series versus Bangladesh U-19 and India B U-19. He accumulated 132 runs in three matches, with the highest score of 88.

After winning the U-19 Asia Cup 2021-22, scoring an unbeaten 56 runs in the final versus Sri Lanka U-19, he ended up being India's best batter in the World Cup 2022. The opener smashed 268 runs in the tournament, including a 144-run knock against Uganda U-19.

He made his domestic debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023 for Mumbai, receiving the cap from Ajinkya Rahane. In his maiden List-A outing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023, he smashed 57 runs versus Kerala.

The youngster was handed an IPL contract of INR 20 lakh by Kolkata Knight Riders in the auction for the 2024 season.
