Player Bio

Hailing from Ludhiana, Punjab, Nehal Wadhera is an emerging young player picked by Mumbai Indians whose talent scout is second to none.

Wadhera impressed in the 2017-18 Cooch Behar Trophy with 540 runs, including six half-centuries. As a result, the southpaw was given an opportunity with the Indian U-19 team against Sri Lanka in 2018. As a result, he became the third cricketer from Ludhiana to play for India at any level.

With Yuvraj Singh-like flamboyance and elegance, Wadhera grinded hard to get a place in the Punjab senior state team. But, then, in the semi-finals of the Punjab State Inter-district tournament 2022, the stylish batter slammed 578 (42 fours and 37 sixes) for Ludhiana against Bathinda.

The 22-year-old finally made his First-Class debut for Punjab in the 2022-23 edition of the Ranji Trophy and came up with a knock of 123 against Gujarat. The young prodigy shot to fame with his sensational knock of 214 against Madhya Pradesh.

The youngster’s IPL debut was an entertaining one as he smashed a 13-ball 21 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, including consecutive sixes hit to senior-pro Karn Sharma.
