Hailing from Vadodara, Ansh Patel is an emerging slow left-arm orthodox bowler and a right-handed batter who came into the limelight after he got picked by the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega-auction. He has proved his capabilities in the domestic circuit for Baroda in the T20 format of the game and that has opened the gate for him to showcase his skills in the grandest T20 league in the world.

After showering impressive performances for his club in local tournaments, the young man was picked in Baroda’s squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT). The Surat-born made his debut in the domestic circuit at the 2021-22 edition of SMAT against Karnataka on 8th Nov 2021. He bowled a couple of overs in his debut game and the team management was quite impressed with his control on the ball. The Gujarat-based cricketer was impressive in the debut match, as a result, went on to play the next three matches for Baroda in the particular competition. The all-rounder picked up a solitary wicket in 4 matches that he played, with an economy of just over 7.

The talent scout of PBKS spotted his talent and picked him at the IPL auction 2022. He might not start straightaway in the playing 11 for the Kings in the first couple of games but he is certainly a backup option for another left-arm spinner, with Harpreet Brar in the squad.
