Claire Moore is the latest addition in the Sydney Sixers lineup when the club signed the young batter for the 2021-22 edition of Women’s Big Bash League. Her cricketing hero is Marnus Labuschagne and Moore bats as elegantly as her idol.
Born in New South Wales, Moore played grade cricket at Parramatta and later went on to play for Hills Sports High. The elegant batter has been representing NSW at age-group level from the 2015-16 season.
However, it was the NSW Women’s Premier Cricket where the youngster had her breakthrough term. She was the leading scorer in 2020-21 in the state league.
After a hip injury to Silver-Holmes, the New South Wales-born was brought in the Sixers squad. Moore made her WBBL debut against Melbourne Stars at Hobart in October 2021.
In her maiden Big Bash stint, the youngster will be sharing space with the likes of Alyssa Healy, Ellyse Perry, Ashleigh Gardner, et al - which would be a huge learning curve for Moore.
