Player Bio

Zane Green is a young wicketkeeper-batsman who found his way into Namibia’s national team, from U-19 cricket. He has been part of Cricket Namibia's Elite Men's Squad, since his debut in 2019, and would be donning the national colours proudly during the T20 World Cup of 2021.

Born in Namibia, Green attended Windhoek High School and started playing as a schoolboy. Aged at 15, the keeper started representing Namibia U19 side during the 2012-13 season, before graduating to the higher level to make his first-class debut in October 2013.

In domestic circles, the youngster found his feet and was touted to be the future star of his nation. The wicketkeeper-batsman was a part of the 2014 U-19 World Cup squad and captained them during the 2016 junior tournament.

Green was first named in Namibia's squad in the Southern subregion group for the 2018–19 ICC World Twenty20 Africa Qualifier tournament in Botswana. However, he had to wait for a year or so to make his international debut. Since his debut in 2019, the keeper-batter has been part of the Namibian team during all major tournaments.

At 25, Green is all set to showcase his prowess in front of the global audience during the pinnacle T20I tournament, to be held in late 2021, where Namibia would look to seal a spot for the Super 12 round.
