Another promising all-rounder, Jehan Kieth Zeon Daniel has come through the ranks for Sri Lanka. He is a pure all-rounder who bats in the middle-order and bowls right-arm medium-fast, which makes him a complete package for his country in these transition times.
Once represented in Sri Lanka U-19, Daniel has graduated from Colombo’s St. Joseph's College. He has played for various clubs domestically ranging from Colts Cricket Club, John Keells Group, ICBT Campus and he has also donned the Sri Lanka Emerging Team and Galle District’s jerseys.
The Colombo-born made his List-A during the local Super Four Provincial Limited Over Tournament in May 2018 and received his T20 cap for Kandy later that month. Following that season, the all-rounder got the honours of playing in the Premier League Tournament, when he made his First-Class debut.
Since his debut, Daniel has taken huge strides in both batting and bowling departments and if added the fielding credentials, he becomes an all-format package. Considering all these things, the all-rounder will always be at the back of selectors’ minds but it’s up to the youngster to fulfil his enormous potential.
