Nimesh Vimukthi

Mandamarakkalage Nimesh Vimukthi Silva, commonly known as Nimesh Vimukthi is a Sri Lankan cricketer. He is a pure all-rounder who is a solid middle-order batter and an equally probing left-arm spinner. He represents Chilaw Marians Cricket Club and Panadura domestically. 

Born in Colombo, Vimukthi has graduated from Panadura’s Mahanama College. The all-rounder first introduced himself at the domestic level in 2016 and has represented Police Sports Club, Chilaw Marians Cricket Club, Colombo District since his domestic debut. 

The Colombo-born made his first-class debut for Panadura Sports Club in the Premier Trophy in December 2016. The following year, he made his List A debut during the Districts One Day Tournament, when played for Colombo in March 2017. His T20 debut came in February 2018 in the SLC Twenty-20 Tournament.

In August 2021, he was named in the SLC Reds team for the 2021 SLC Invitational T20 League tournament. However, prior to the first match, he tested positive for COVID-19, ruling him out of the tournament. 

Since his debut, the all-rounder has taken huge strides in both departments of the game. His performances have made one thing clear that Vimukthi would surely play for the sport at the highest level if everything goes as planned.
