Player Bio

Born on January 20, 1999, George Drissel is a right-arm off-spinner who plays for the Durham team in County Cricket. So far in his career, the 23-year-old bowler has already represented three county teams.

Drissel started his career at the Bedminster Cricket Club and progressed into the Gloucestershire Academy. He made his first-class debut for Gloucs against Northants in the 2017 edition of County Championship.

The youngster made his List-A debut in the 2018 edition of Royal London One Day Cup. Until 2020, he featured in a total of 7 first-class matches for Gloucestershire and scalped seven wickets, with the best figures of 4/83 against Glamorgan.

In the absence of Jack Leach, the talented tweaker featured for Somerset in the 2021 edition of Royal London One Day Cup and scalped a couple of wickets and contributed 32 runs in 5 appearances. His last List-A outing was against Warwickshire in the same tournament.

Later in 2021, Drissell impressed the Durham team management by picking 13 wickets and adding 104 runs in a couple of fixtures of the Second Eleven matches. This helped him to fetch a contract from Durham.

In the 2022 edition of the County Championship, the Bristol-born cricketer featured in his debut first-class game for Durham against Notts.
