Player Bio

Christopher Benjamin is a South African cricketer who plays for Warwickshire in the English County Championship. A right-handed wicket-keeper batter, Benjamin made his first-class debut for Durham in 2019.

Benjamin is an aggressive batsman who has the ability to clear any ground in the world. His hard-hitting batting impressed Warwickshire management and they offered him a rookie contract in 2021, which he accepted.

2021 was a productive year for the Johannesburg born. He made his T20 debut for the Birmingham Bears on the T20 Blast, and also had the pleasure of making his List-A debut for Warwickshire in the 2021 Royal London One-Day Cup.

He was a last-minute replacement for injured Adam Hose in the Birmingham Phoenix squad for the inaugural edition of the Hundred. He was known for his power hitting and he justified his hitting abilities with a sensational 15-ball 24 against London Spirit, that propelled his side to a three-wicket win.

A powerhouse in his own right, Benjamin’s ability to churn out runs quickly in the middle order has garnered praise from the cricketing fraternities in England. He has quickly established himself as a reliable batter in all three formats of the game. Maybe an international call-up is just round the corner.
