CPL 2021: St Kitts & Nevis Patriots' Mikyle Louis forced to leave tournament for bio-bubble breach

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots player Mikyle Louis has been forced to leave the ongoing edition of the Caribbean Premier League for breaching the tournament’s operational protocols. Louis will not be a part of the competition any further. Operations Director, Michael Hall said that Louis had opted to leave the hotel bubble without permission following some tragic news about a close friend. “Following the receipt of some tragic news about a close friend, the player took the unfortunate and ill-advised decision to leave the hotel bubble without permission. While the league is sympathetic about the circumstances which led to the player’s decision, it cannot allow the integrity of its Covid-secure bubble to be compromised,” Hall was quoted as saying by PTI. The Patriots are sitting at the top of the points table with three wins out of three games that they have played in the league so far. They defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors on Monday in St Kitts by 6 wickets. Chasing a target of 167, the Patriots went over the line in the last over, riding on some fine piece of batting from Sherfane Rutherford who notched up an unbeaten half-century. Apart from Rutherford, Devon Thomas, Evin Lewis and captain Dwayne Bravo also chipped in with some valuable runs during the course. The side will now take on Jamaica Tallawahs on Thursday, September 02 at the same venue.
