Player Bio

A powerful young batsman, Harry Came is a professional English cricketer who currently plays for the Hampshire County Club. Wanting to take his game to the next level and develop his skills, 19-year-old, Harry arrived at the Gary Kirsten Cricket High-Performance Academy in November 2017 with some clear goals in mind.

Upon returning from Cape Town, Harry trained with the Hampshire’s 2nd XI and started the season playing for his club St. Cross. He amassed 5 tons and 3 fifties in his debut season with the highlight being 101 not out for Kent 2nd XI against Sussex to see the side home along with an unbeaten 60 in the first innings.

Harry made his senior debut against Surrey on August 18th, 2019 and since then he has been juggling in and out of the squad quite frequently after failing to cement his spot in the playing XI.

The 22-year-old, who recently crashed 113 not out in a Second XI Twenty20 match at Durham, immediately came into Derbyshire’s Vitality Blast squad in June 2021. The right-handed batsman made five first-class appearances for Hampshire before his release in 2020, while he has featured in two Second XI Championship matches for Derbyshire this summer.

Filled with potential, Harry is on the long-term plan of Derbyshire’s head coach Dave Houghton and the injury of Ben Mcdermott has created an opportunity for Harry to shine this summer.
