A classy stroke-maker, Ben Compton is a professional English cricketer who belongs to the cricketing dynasty which includes Denis and Nick, the former English cricketers. A patient top-order southpaw, Nick displayed a formidable approach to red-ball cricket opening alongside the skipper Steven Mullaney.
The Southpaw reached his first three-figure mark for the Notts’ second string in an encounter against Northamptonshire in August 2019, having hit four hundreds for Kent’s second XI earlier in the same campaign.
The 27-year old arrived quite late in the domestic circuit making his debut for the senior side against Warwickshire on September 16th, 2019. Compton earned his place in the senior side and subsequently his professional contract with Nottinghamshire after impressing with a series of industrious innings for the second XI.
Yet to cement his place in Nott’s playing XI in any format, Compton signed a contract extension with the club that will require his services till the end of the 2021 season. The Durban-born opener is known for his patient and classical approach and has the potential to become successful in red-ball cricket.
