Player Bio

A right-handed batsman and an occasional medium-pace bowler, Tim Gruijters plays for Netherlands national cricket team. He made his Netherlands debut in an ODI game against Kenya in 2010 and had an unimpressive debut, getting dismissed for just 6 runs.

The Dutch played quite a few List-A games after his international debut and then made his T20I debut against Scotland in 2012.

However, Gruijters will always be remembered for the wrong reasons. During the 2014 ICC World T20 in Bangladesh, he accused the team management of cheating by forcing him out of the side on medical grounds, just to bring in Tom Cooper as a last-minute replacement.

A talented strokeplayer, Gruijters was never the same after the 2014 controversy and was not picked in the Dutch since then.
