Player Bio

A bright allrounder, Leah Paul is an Irish professional cricketer who plays for Merrion CC and Scorchers domestically. Paul is a top-order batter and more than a handy left-arm orthodox bowler, who is well-known in Ireland cricket.

Paul was one of those Irish cricketers who proved his mantle during the United Kingdom tour with the Ireland A team. She was then called for the South Africa Quadrangular Series in 2017. The all-rounder made her ODI debut in 2017 and her T20I debut came in 2019.

However, a 21-year-old Paul announced herself when she finished the highest run-scorer in the Super 50 series that year, scoring 295 runs at an average of 49.17, apart from scalping wickets with her left-arm spin.

The all-rounder was also part of the Irish squad which toured the West Indies for the World T20 event, but unfortunately, she didn’t get any game then. In July 2020, she was awarded a non-retainer contract by Cricket Ireland for the following year.

With Ireland not getting enough opportunities at the world stage, bright players like Paul aren’t getting enough chances to showcase their talent. However, the all-rounder has proven herself times and time again on the domestic level.
