Player Bio

Samantha Haggo is a right-arm medium-pacer who represents Scotland on the world stage, while has played for Canterbury CC, New South Wales, and Hobart Hurricanes, over the years. With Scotland not being a superpower, Haggo has been a quality player and donned different jerseys, around the world.

Haggo earned the tag of a marvellous gritty player when she started her domestic career. Just after four matches, the pacer was selected for Scotland’s national team in the World T20 Qualifier in 2015. She also played the inaugural edition of Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) and played a mammoth role in Sydney Thunder’s victory.

After WBBL, the Wildcat was contracted by New South Wales during the 2015-16 domestic season in Australia, where she spent three successive stints till 2019. Meanwhile, she also played in the UK for Canterbury and took 20 WBBL wickets for Hobart Hurricanes in 2019. Haggo made her T20I debut for Scotland during the 2019 Qualifier Europe tournament in Spain.

The Scottish has been a potent bowler and has bagged various milestones like the ICC Development Award and Hobart Hurricanes’ Most Valuable Player Award. However, due to Scotland not getting enough opportunities, a vital prospect like Haggo has not been flourishing at the highest level.
