Player Bio

Fionn Hand is a Dublin boy, who bowls right-arm medium pace and bats elegantly for a tailender.

Fionn made his domestic debut for the Leinster Lightning as a 19-year-old, during the 2018 Cricket Ireland Inter-Provincial Twenty20 Trophy, he played 3 games and managed 2 wickets and 15 runs.

The medium-pacers breakthrough came in 2019 when he earned his First-class and List-A debut, both against the North-West Warriors. He was then called up for the Ireland Wolves squad to face the Scotland A team.

The Dublin-born cricketer moved to Munster Reds and smashed 110 runs at an average of 22 while bagging 8 wickets during the 2021 domestic T20 competition. The following season, he tallied 50 runs and 6 wickets in the same tournament. He also represented the Somerset second XI.

In May 2022, the 24-year-old allrounder was rewarded with a nine-month contract by the Irish National side. He was picked up for the T20 internationals against South Africa and New Zealand but couldn't break into the playing 11.

The young Irish allrounder's T20I debut finally arrived on August 12, 2022, against Afghanistan in Belfast. His first international victim was Hazratullah Zazai, then blasted a splendid 36 off 18 while chasing, being a record score by a number nine batter on T20I debut. Unfortunately, the herculean effort ended in a losing cause.

Ireland's 54th T20I-capped player will travel to Australia to represent his country at the 2022 edition of the ICC World T20.
