Player Bio

A dashing southpaw, Joe Cooke is a professional English cricketer who plays domestically for Glamorgan. Joe represented Durham University and during March 2017, he made his first-class debut against Gloucestershire. The Hertfordshire-born batter featured in a handful of games for Durham and also skippered the side in 2017.

The southpaw made his Second XI Championship debut in 2019, having also played for the Sussex second XI and MCC Young Cricketers the previous summer. He topped the Championship batting average for the second-string team, scoring a well-composed 131 against Sussex. His efforts were rewarded by a contract with the Welsh County.

Joe also featured in the team that won the 2nd XI T20 title in 2019 and was also awarded a one-year contract for 2020. He made his debut for the first team, playing two Bob Willis Trophy fixtures as an opening batsman towards the end of the campaign. The youngster penned down a contract extension which will see him at Glamorgan for another year. Joe, who just turned 24, wants to continue his development in Glamorgan alongside some of the top-flight cricketers in the team.
