Player Bio

The younger sibling of the Sheikh brothers, Aasif Sheikh is a professional Nepalese cricketer who played cricket at junior levels for Birgunj before making Nepal u-19 debut in the Asia Cup. A classy top-order batsman and a part-time gloveman, Aasif gradually made progress alongside his brother who played an instrumental role in Aasif’s life.

The 20-year old gloveman finally got the opportunity to play alongside his brother at the highest level when he made his international debut against the Netherlands in April 2021. Chasing 137 in 20 overs, Aasif opened the innings along with Bhurtel and scored an unbeaten fifty off just 38 balls to win the game by 9 wickets for his side.

With just a handful of games under his belt, Aasif is proving his worth with each passing game and has shown abilities to become a future prospect for Nepal in the shortest format.
