Born on December 20, 1997, at Leicester, Samuel Evans flourished with training at the Grace Road Academy in his younger days. He was handed his First-Class debut for Loughborough MCCU against Leicester in the 2017 edition, which formed a part of the Marylebone Cricket Club University Matches.
Although the Leicester-born was dismissed for 12 in the first appearance, he scored a sensational 114 off 161 in the next fixture against Northants.
In 2018, the top-order batter made his List-A debut against India A and contributed 20 runs. After that, however, he had to struggle for around two years for the Second XI team to finally earn a place in the First XI of the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy.
The 24-year-old scored 148 runs in three appearances at an average of 29.60, with a top score of 85 against Durham. At the end of the season, he signed a two-year contract with Leicester County.
In the 2021 edition of the County Championship Group Two, Evans hit his highest First-Class score of 138 against Surrey, comprising 16 fours.
In the ongoing County Championship Division Two, Evans has amassed 283 runs in six matches at an average of 25.72, with 77* coming against Durham.
