In his playing days, Tait, who represented Australia in 59 internationals across all three formats and picked up 95 wickets, was considered one of the fastest bowlers to have ever played the game.
Shaun Tait resigns as Afghanistan's fast-bowling consultant with immediate effect
Former Australian pacer Shaun Tait has resigned with immediate effect from his post of fast-bowling consultant for the Afghanistan national side. He rated the Afghanistan pacers very highly and predicted a “great future” for them while also commending his time with the head coach Lance Klusener, who has also resigned from the post of head coach. However, he will complete his tenure and separate from the team only by the end of the year. "I have enjoyed my time working with the team especially with the young Afghan fast bowlers whom I personally think have a great future. Having access to a great cricketing mind like Lance Klusener (head coach of Afghanistan during my tenure) has been an absolute pleasure,” Tait said. Tait has signed bowling coach contract with the Indian domestic side Puducherry and his decision to end association with Afghanistan can also been credited to that contract.
