Player Bio

Ben Aitchison is an English cricketer who plays for Derbyshire County in England. Born in Southport, Lancashire, Aitchison is a right-arm fast bowler who is known for his pace and the ability to generate bounce off a surface.

Aitchison was part of the Lancashire second XI in his teenage days, but had limited opportunities to impress the selectors. As a result, he shifted his base from Lancashire and moved to Derbyshire in search of game time.

Aitchison made his first class debut for Derbyshire in the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy. Prior to that, the speedster signed a rookie contract with the club.

He shot to fame in the 2021 County season. Where the pace bowler scalped his career-best figures of 6/28 against Durham. The match ended in a draw, but Aitchison garnered all the praise for his sensational performance.

Aitchison’s career changed ever since he moved to Derbyshire. He became a better bowler and is one of the shining lights of a struggling Derbyshire side.
