Player Bio

A South African-born Namibian cricketer, Jan Nicolaas Frylinck plays for the Namibian cricket team and for Boland in the domestic circuit.

It was during the 2011-12 domestic season that Frylinck made his first-class debut for Boland and since then has been a regular feature in their side.

A left-handed batsman and a crafty left-arm medium-pace bowler, Frylinck has represented the South Africa Under-19 team in several Youth ODI matches.

2017-18 was a breakout season for the all-rounder as he was the leading run-scorer in the CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge tournament. Playing for Namibia, he amassed 367 runs in eight matches and was the leading wicket-taker for his side with 16 dismissals. 2019 was indeed a special year for Frylinck. He was named the vice-captain of the national side and was presented with an opportunity to make his ODI debut against Oman.

He created history in his very first match by scalping 5 wickets and in the process became the first bowler for Namibia to grab a five-wicket haul on debut in an ODI match.

In August 2021, it was announced that Frylinck will be a part of the Namibia squad for the 2021 World T20 tournament.

So far, Frylinck has impressed everyone at the international level. But the true test of his skills will take place at the T20 World Cup. Frylinck will look to stamp his authority in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
