Player Bio

A left-handed middle-order batsman, Karl Birkenstock is a professional Namibian cricketer who first arrived at the domestic scene in 2016 getting his maiden first-class cap against Western Province. The 25-year old had a horrific debut as he was dismissed on single-figures in both innings.

Born in Centurion, Karl’s impressive domestic records especially in the shortest format paved his way for a bright international career. He made his ODI debut against Oman on April 27th, 2019 and scored an impressive 61 at the top-order for his side. A month later, the southpaw made his T20I debut against Ghana but didn’t get an opportunity to showcase his skill as Namibia chased down 92 with 9 wickets in hand.

Having cemented his place in the limited-overs side of Namibia, Karl would be hoping to take the associate nation to new heights in the upcoming years.
