Player Bio

A watchful middle-order batter, Sharmin Akhter is a professional Bangladeshi women’s cricketer who arrived at the international stages a decade ago when she was just 15 years old.

The 25-year old batter made her ODI debut against Ireland Women in November 2011 and a year later made her T20I debut against the same opponents in August 2012.

Born and brought up in Gaibanda, Sharmin was selected to represent the Tigresses at the 2018 ICC Women’s World T20 tournament in the West Indies. With just over 30 appearances in her 10-year long career, she has blown hot and cold throughout her international career.

Still just 25-years old, Sharmin would be hoping to secure a spot in the Bangladeshi squad after being named in the limited-overs series for their tour to Zimbabwe.
