Dubey made his first-class debut for the India-Emerging side against the Nepal-Emerging at Savar in 2019. His match-winning performance of 4 for 26 in the one-off T20 secured a thumping win for the India-Emerging side.
After consistent performance throughout the year, he was picked in the Vidarbha squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy(SMAT) 2021. The Gorakhpur-born played all five matches for Vidarbha in the particular season and scalped nine wickets. After his impressive performance with the ball in the 2021 edition of SMAT, SRH sealed the deal at his base price of INR 20 lakhs in the auction.
