Player Bio

A tape-ball cricketer who used to play on the streets of Lahore, Salman Mirza is a professional cricketer for the Lahore Qalandars. He first appeared in the open trials of the player development program in 2017 where he was selected to play for Lahore’s team in the PDP tournament and the following year he was selected to play for Faisalabad.

In 2019, Salman participated in the local T20 tournament named “Battle of Qalandars” where his bowling was noticed by the team management and he was selected to train at the franchise’s High-Performance Center. Travelling with the Qalandar’s squad during the post-covid era, he was selected as a net bowler.

His hard work paid off and Salman was selected to represent Lahore Qalandars in the inaugural game of the 2021 Pakistan Super League (PSL). Salman was brought in as the replacement of Dilbar Hussain who was suffering a hamstring injury. In his debut match, Salman took two crucial wickets of Haider Ali and Kamran Akmal in an impressive victory.

The bowler, who turned 27 this year (2021) has represented Qalandars in just two matches and would be hoping to deliver the goods when selected for the remainder of the 2021 PSL season which is to be held in UAE.
