Tevin Imlach is a Guyanese wicketkeeper-batter who has done well enough lately to make the West Indies Test and ODI sides.

Bursting onto the scene in the Under-19 World Cup 2016, Imlach was a part of the victorious campaign, lifting the trophy along with the likes of Shimron Hetmyer, Alzarri Joseph, and Keemo Paul. He scored 150 runs in six matches in the tournament and pulled off a miraculous stumping to dismiss India’s Rishabh Pant off an under-arm throw in the final.

Imlach made his List-A debut while playing for the West Indies ‘B’ in 2018 and featured for Guyana in his maiden First-Class appearance later in the same year.

His breakthrough season came in 2022 when he scored 272 runs at a healthy average of 45.33 in the West Indies Championship. In the following edition of the tournament, Imlach didn’t enjoy the same level of success. However, he notched up a century, his maiden in first-class cricket, versus Jamaica, playing a crucial role in Guyana’s successful campaign.

Imlach backed up his strong performance in the red-ball format with an impressive display in the Super50 Cup 2022-23, emerging as Guyana’s top-scorer, amassing 268 runs in seven matches at an average of 44.66.

Imlach was picked as a travelling reserve for the India Test series in July 2023. He was then named in the original squad for the Test series in and against Australia as a back-up wicket-keeper. He received his maiden ODI call-up on the same tour.
