Hailing from Karachi, Saim Ayub, a left-handed batter, is a promising talent for Pakistan. Ayub plays for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and is a notable contributor for Karachi Whites in the domestic circuit. 

Ayub burst onto the T20 scene in February 2021 when he represented Quetta Gladiators during PSL. In March 2022, Ayub showcased his prowess in List A cricket. His consistent performances paved the way for his first-class debut in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for Sindh in September 2022. 

In February 2023, playing for Peshawar Zalmi in PSL, Ayub showcased his mettle by smashing his maiden PSL half-century off 33 deliveries. His remarkable performances throughout the season, including a stunning knock of 74 off 34 in a match against Quetta Gladiators, cemented his status as a promising prospect in Pakistan Cricket. 

Ayub’s cricketing prowess wasn't just confined to PSL; he made a significant impact in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 by playing a pivotal role in the Amazon Warriors' title victory with a stellar performance in the final.

In March 2023, Ayub's stellar performances earned him a spot in the Pakistan T20 squad for the series against Afghanistan. Making his international debut on March 24, 2023, he added another chapter to his growing cricket career.

Ayub amassed a staggering 1069 runs in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2023-24. His scintillating performance in the final (203 & 109) caught the attention of the selectors, earning him a maiden Test call-up against Australia.

Ayub is an emerging talent for Pakistan, and his inclusion in the Test squad is undoubtedly an opportunity for him to prove his worth. Additionally, it will be a test of his patience in cricket’s longest format.
