Player Bio

Suyash Prabhudessai is a hard-hitting batsman, who played a finisher’s role for his side Goa on many occasions.

The young batsman, who is also an occasional medium-pacer, hogged the headlines during the auction ahead of the 2021 Indian Premier League, where his favourite franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore acquired him. His life turned upside-down when Virat Kohli messaged him to congratulate after the auction.

Prabhudessai made debut for Goa during the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. His first List-A game was against Bengal in February 2017.

In the next season, he got to play the red-ball format during the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season and a couple of months later, he grabbed his maiden T20 cap against Sikkim in February 2019. As his career progressed, he became a vital cog in his state team’s lineup.

The young batter is well-influenced by Virat Kohli and came in the Indian skipper’s awe during the 2016 IPL season, where Kohli scored 973 runs and sent each & every bowler on the leather hunt on a regular basis. After seeing the Kohli assault, Prabhudessai started working on the hard-hitting prospect of his game and in just a period of 2-3 years, he made himself ready for the higher-level.

Prabhudessai’s rise to shine moment came in a game against Madhya Pradesh during the 2020-21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The aggressive batsman took the MP bowlers on and bamboozled them all over the park. He scored an unbeaten 48 off 22 deliveries that included three-fours and four-sixes, to help his side chase down the 215-run target. The game was broadcasted live and the Goa-based cricketer got the eyeballs of the Bangalore-based club on him.

In February 2021, Suyash Prabhudessai was bought by RCB at his base price of INR 20 lakhs. Prabdhudessai could surely flaunt his finishing skills during the 14th season of the Indian T20 extravaganza to cement his place in the star-studded RCB lineup.
