Hailing from Chennai, Baba Indrajith is a right-handed batter, also known to keep wickets and occasionally bowl some leg-breaks. Indrajith is the twin brother of another Tamil Nadu stalwart, Baba Aparajith.
Indrajith made his First-Class debut for Tamil Nadu in 2013 against Saurashtra. 2017 was the breakthrough year for Indrajith as he tonked back-to-back hundreds in his Duleep Trophy debut. The following year, Indrajith was rewarded with the captaincy of the state team for the Ranji Trophy.
Since its inaugural season, the wicket-keeper batter has been a consistent performer in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). He was also the leading run-scorer for his side in the Ranji season 2018-19 after stockpiling 641 runs in 8 matches.
In the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League auction, Indrajith was welcomed with a contract by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the base price of INR 20 lakhs. The premium TN wicket-keeper batter would be looking forward to bring his A-game at the grand stage.
