Player Bio
The Middlesex-born, Perth-bred, Dimitri Mascarenhas learnt his trade with Hampshire. He has been in the county circuit for over 15 years now. The right-arm pacer and lower-order batsman – who once hit Yuvraj Singh for five consecutive sixes in an ODI – is known to thrive under pressure. He is also an excellent fielder. Previously a part of the Rajasthan Royals, he was roped in by Kings XI Punjab at the IPL Player Auction 2011. An injury to his Achilles heel caused him to sit out of IPL 2011 – as well as lose his place in the England team. But he was back in action in 2012. Apart from turning up for KXIP in 2012, he led Hampshire to the Friends Life T20 title with victory against Yorkshire and into the CLT20 2012 in South Africa.
