Player Bio

Australian Professional cricketer Daniel Trevor Christian, who bats aggressively, is canny with his medium pace bowling as well.

The all-rounder has been a T20 specialist over the years and regarded as the lucky-mascot by the franchises across the globe.

Christian has played with over 15 franchises in his elite career and helped his respective clubs to reach the final on many occasions. He has also lifted trophies eight times.

The Australian all-rounder is a complete T20 package, who contributes in all the three departments. In the 2006-07 season, Christian played for New South Wales, but next season, he opted to shift his base to South Australia. The all-rounder from the Indigenous tribe, led the All-Aboriginal team on the tour of England in 2009.

As he regularly proved his capabilities on the domestic circuit, the national selectors awarded the all-rounder international debut in a T20I against West Indies in February 2010. He was also part of the Australian squad for the 2010 World T20.

In 2011, the Sydney-born got his Test call-up for the Boxing-day Test against India to become the second Indigenous Australian cricketer after Jason Gillespie to play the longest format. However, Christian couldn’t get his baggy-green.

The all-rounder played his maiden ODI against Sri Lanka where he had a dream debut with figures of 5 for 31, including a hat-trick.

Christian was contracted by Hampshire for the 2010 domestic T20 Cup. Then, Deccan Chargers purchased the prolific all-rounder for USD 900,000 ahead of the 2010 Indian Premier League. Later, he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a sum of USD 100,000 for the sixth edition of the IPL. The all-rounder also played for Rising Pune Supergiants and Delhi Daredevils in the 2017 and 2018 editions, respectively. Christian was also the part of Brisbane Heat during their BBL8 triumph and he won the 10th season of the Big Bash with Sydney Sixers.

Ahead of the 2021 Indian Premier League, the Bangalore-based club has again invested a huge money of INR 4.8 crore in the abilities of Dan Christian to clinch their maiden IPL title.
