Player Bio

Muthuthanthirige Nuwanidu Keshawa Fernando is a dynamic player who made his first-class debut in 2016.

A technically sound right-handed batter, Fernando has also represented his nation at the 2018 U-19 World Cup. Prior to the World Cup, Fernando made his much anticipated first-class debut for Panadura Sports Club in the 2016-17 Premier League Tournament.

2018 was a brilliant year for the young batter. He was the leading run-scorer for Sri Lanka in the 2018 ACC U-19 Asia Cup, with 195 runs in 5 matches. Eventually, he caught the eyes of the national selectors and was fast-tracked into the youth setup.

In 2021, Fernando was a part of the Sinhalese Sports Club side that won the 2020-21 SLC Twenty20 tournament.

A busy customer out in the middle, Fernando is a quick runner between the wickets. His ability to find the gaps is second to none. Still relatively young at the moment, Fernando has a long road ahead of him.
