Player Bio

Born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Faraz Akram is a right-arm pace bowler who plays professional cricket for the Zimbabwe national team.

The rapid pacer caught everyone’s attention in the 2017/18 Logan Cup. He was not amongst the wickets, but his raw pace and the desire to bowl quickly impressed everyone who saw him for the first time.

Akram worked hard in the domestic competitions and eventually received his maiden international call-up in the T20 series against Pakistan in 2020. He made his debut in the third T20I of the series and went wicketless in the match, but consistently troubled the opposition with pace and bounce.

The speedster from Jeddah went back to the domestic circuit and was selected in the Eagles squad to participate in the 2020 Logan Cup.

Faraz was selected to play in the T20I series against the Afghans in March 2021 and featured in the third T20I conceding 46 runs in four overs as Afghanistan won the match and the series comfortably.

Akram has all the talent in the world to be a successful fast bowler with speed being his biggest attribute. However, he still has to work on his line and length, especially in the shortest form of the game.
