Player Bio

Regarded as one of the future stars of Australia, Will Pucovski has been picked in the Australian team for the Test series against India on the back of some consistent performances in the domestic circuit. After making a sensational start to a first-class career with Victoria, Pucovski was picked in the Test squad for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. However, he was overlooked at the last moment in favor of Kurtis Patterson who was in good form. Several Blows has Stalled his career. However, he has remained strong and has continued to fight hard in the domestic circuit.

On the back of some exceptional performances for Victoria U 19 in the national championship, he made his List A debut in 2017 against the touring Pakistan side. He had smashed 4 centuries in the National Championship and followed it up with a good season with the bat in the Sheffield Shield. The right-handed top-order batsman played for the CA XI against England. He smashed a breathtaking 188 against Queensland in just his 2nd Sheffield Shield.

Concussion prevented him from taking further part in the tournament as he was hit by a bouncer against New South Wales. He made a comeback in the 2018-19 season and had a great time with the bat. He also became the 8th Australian to hit a Shield double hundred before the age of 21. He struck a brilliant 243 at the WACA but he suffered a mental breakdown and had to deal with these issues and was out of the game for around six weeks.

Pucovski was almost certain to make his Test debut before being left out for Kurtis Patterson. He left the squad before the Canberra Test as he had to address some mental health issues. However, he returned with a bang and was instrumental in Victoria’s triumphant campaign in the Shield cricket. On the back of some brilliant performances leading up to India’s tour of Australia, Pucovski was picked in the Test squad and is likely to make his debut for Australia.
