Player Bio

Henry Hunt is an opening batter for South Australia and Adelaide Striker in the Big Bash. A 22-year old Hunt joined West End Redbacks as a rookie for the 2019-20 summer after a standout Toyota Futures League campaign with ACT/NSW Country.

Born in Cowra, the opening batter comes from a sporting background. His father, James Hunt had played for a local rugby league team, and built a cricket net in the backyard to help his son flourish. He had his first breakthrough when he debuted for the Country Comets in the 2014-15 season of the Futures League.

Hunt, later, played for Australia Under-19s during the 2015-16 season. He was named in Australia's squad that was scheduled to play in the 2016 U-19 Cricket World Cup but withdrew from the tournament due to security concerns.

In the 2018-19 season, the Cowra-born performed exceedingly well in the Futures League and for the Eastern Suburbs in Sydney Grade Cricket - where he equalled Johan Botha's record for the fastest T20 century in the competition, scoring 104 runs off of 45 deliveries against UNSW.

In 2021, the youngster bagged a BBL contract from Adelaide Strikers to share dressing rooms with some of the biggest names going around in world cricket. (As of December 2021)
