Player Bio

Robin Das is a strong lad who strikes the ball cleanly and is pretty switched-on to work out well in difficult situations of the game. Born in Leytonstone, Das is a British-Bangladeshi whose father hails from Sunamganj. The right-handed batsman plays Club cricket for Essex Wanstead.

The Leytonstone-born was educated at Brentwood School. He has come through the ranks for Essex from age-group levels to Academy and has also spent part in training with the England U-19’s squad. His limelight moment came when he scored an unbeaten 200 against Kent U17s in July 2019. He scored three hundreds for Essex U-17s in total.

Later that season, the young lad won the Academy Player of the Year for Essex. His services to Essex second XI and Academy team earned him a contract with the senior side. He was handed his maiden first-team opportunity during the 2020 T20 Blast when he played a game against Sussex.

In recent years, Das has shown excellent form in both red-ball and white-ball cricket, but it seems he is slightly more slanted towards white-ball cricket. He is also willing to play domestic cricket in Bangladesh, during the 2021 off-season, which would make him a better player off-spin.
