Player Bio

Nicknamed ā€˜Bozieā€™ because of his ability to bulldoze everything around him, Colin Ingram is a stylish left-handed top-order batsman who has represented South Africa in ODI and T20I formats of the game.

One of those talents that just couldnā€™t go the distance, Ingram made his first-class debut in the 20014/05 domestic season. A lethal striker of the cricket ball, Ingram had a great first-class and List-A season in 2009 and as a result, was drafted in the South African squad for the T20I series against Zimbabwe in 2010.

Following the T20 series, Ingram got another chance to impress the selectors in the ODI leg of the series against Zimbabwe and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands, scoring a majestic 124 in his debut innings and became the first South African to score a ton on his debut.

Ingram was selected in the Proteas squad for the ICC World Cup 2011. The Port Elizabeth-born played just one match throughout the tournament and scored a quickfire 46 against Ireland.

Inconsistent performance with the bat and constant chopping and changing in his batting order resulted in the southpaw getting dropped from the Proteas national squad.

He signed a Kolpak deal with Glamorgan in 2015, but it was in the following season where Ingram showed his class.

In the 2016 T20 Blast, he slammed 502 runs and hammered 29 sixes in the tournament. Ingram continued his good form in the 2016 Royal One-Day Cup, amassing 367 at an average of just over 60.

He again stood out in the 2017 Royal One-Day Cup, accumulating 564 runs in the tournament.

Apart from Glamorgan, Ingram is a renowned franchise cricket wayfarer, having appeared in IPL, PSL, BBL and even the Afghan Super League.

One of the players, soothing to the eyes, produced by South Africa, Ingram is just the kind of talent that should have played more for his nation. He was later roped in by the Oval Invincibles for the inaugural season of The Hundred'.
