Player Bio

George Lavelle is an English professional cricket player who plays club cricket for Ormskirk CC and is a product of the Lancashire Cricket Academy. He is a middle-order batsman who is majorly known for his wicket-keeping.

Born in Lancashire, Lavelle represented the ECB North of England and after a successful Bunbury Festival, he was named the tournamentā€™s Most Valuable Player. During the pre-season, he toured to Dubai in 2018 and enjoyed a productive following summer. Following that tour, he was picked in England under-19 squad to play Youth Tests against South Africa.

Lavelle made his Second XI debut in November, 2018. The keeper-batter was named Bunbury Player of the Tournament, scoring 459 runs at an average of 98.80 with a high score of 98 against Surrey in the final, aligned with excellent performances behind the stumps. After that, the club signed a contract deal with the keeper-batsman.

During the 2020 season, Lavelle made his First-Class and T20 debut for Lancashire. However, the keeper returned to the Second XI in the 2021 season. The club would be willing to gear up the Lancashire-born to take the gloves from Dane Vilas, after the South African retires.
