Player Bio

Six feet 6 inches tall Shahrukh Khan is a Chennai lad who came up through ranks from age-group cricket. A hard-hitting batsman and an occasional off-break bowler, Shahrukh showed some serious talent for cricket from a very young age.

The batsman first made headlines when he became the Most Valuable Player during the inaugural season of the Junior Chennai Super Kings tournament in 2012. However, the destined star had a hiccup when he was sidelined from the 2014 Under-19 World Cup squad after a prolific Cooch Behar trophy, where the young-SRK scored 624 runs in eight innings and also took 18 wickets in the tournament.

The ignorance from the World Cup brought the opportunity for the Chennai lad to make his List-A debut against Goa and a month later he got his chance to play the T20 format for Tamil Nadu.

The third season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) came in as a blessing for the promising batsman as he was picked by Kovai Kings and the batter  scored 324 runs in nine games. Post the successful season in the T20 league, Shahrukh made his First-Class debut against Kerala in late 2018 and there was no looking back for him. He emerged as a finisher for his state's team in both limited-overs formats.

Shahrukh was the part of the team when Tamil Nadu won the 2020-21 Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy.

He also represented Tamil Nadu, when they  finished as runners up in both the 20-overs and 50-overs domestic competitions in the 2019-20 season.

In February 2021, Punjab Kings bought Shahrukh Khan for a whopping prize-money of INR 5.25 crore in the mini-auctions ahead of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. The 2021 IPL will be the centre-stage for him to prove his worth and showcase his promising talent to grab the national selectors’ attention.
