A 16-year old Brad Taylor made headlines when he became the youngest player in the history of Hampshire CCC to play a 40-over match against Lancashire in 2013. He is an off-spinning allrounder, who emerged successfully through the age-group system.

Born in Winchester, Taylor was educated from Eggar's School to commence his cricket career for the school’s team. Soon after becoming the youngest Hampshire player, he made his Championship debut Lancashire, taking 4 for 64.

The all-rounder became a decent player in the Second XI by 2014, even before making it into the England U-19 team. He also captained them at the Youth World Cup in 2016.

Taylor was awarded a development contract for the 2015 season to have another promising season for the Second XI. The next season, he featured in five T20 fixtures for Hampshire’s Second XI. However, it was not until the 2018 season when he found his feet in the First XI.

The Winchester born made key contributions throughout Hampshire's triumphant 2018 Royal London 50-over campaign before an ankle injury ended his dream season prematurely. He returned to play a key role in the success of Hampshire Second XI in 2019, guiding them to the T20 final, also helping them win the Championship title.

The off-spinning allrounder missed the 2020 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic combined with a minor injury. He has found his rhythm back in the following season, as Taylor is showing some nick and zip with both bat and ball, across all formats for both First XI and Second XI.
