Player Bio

Ian Gabriel Holland is a member of the USA cricket national team, who also represents Hampshire in the county circles, apart from playing for Victoria and Melbourne Renegades in Australia. He is a right-arm bowler and right-handed batsman whose shot to fame came through a TV show that was judged by an Australian great - Allan Border.

Born in Wisconsin in the United States, Holland marked his stardom when he won a reality TV series named Cricket Superstars in Australia. He earned a rookie contract for Victoria by winning the show, making his first-class debut in 2015-16 Sheffield Shield. However, his opportunities remained limited for Victoria.

A year later, the Wisconsin-born shifted to the United Kingdom to play for the English side Hampshire in the 2017 Royal London One-Day Cup, as he holds a UK passport via his British father. He remained on the fringes at the Ageas Bowl, before getting a solid pat on the back from head coach Adi Birrell in 2019.

Birrell pushed the allrounder to the top of the order and Holland made full use of it, by smacking a 143 against Warwickshire, in his maiden innings as an opener. Since 2019, his world has turned upside down.

Holland made his international debut for the USA during the Cricket World Cup League Two, then he got a 12-month contract in the Global T20 Canada, apart from being a regular for the country across all formats.
