Player Bio

A young upcoming right-arm medium-pacer, Aaron Hardie is a professional cricketer for Western Australia. An aggressive lower-order batsman, Hardie was awarded a rookie contract for both Warriors and Scorchers squads for the first time in 2018-19. The 22-year old also skippered the U-19 side of Western Australia to a victory in National Championships in the 2017-18 domestic season.

After a string of impressive domestic performances, Hardie earned a callup to the U-19 Australian side and dazzled everyone with a majestic 85-run knock against Pakistan. Known for getting the big scalps of the opponent’s side, the youngster grabbed headlines when he struck the wicket of Joe Root during their tour match against a WA XI in 2017, and then sent Virat Kohli home during Cricket Australia XI’s clash against India in November 2018.

Hardie was signed by Perth Scorchers prior to the eighth edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) but appeared in just a handful of games in his debut season. After featuring in every game in the last edition, he has a mountain of potential and would be hoping to break into the Australian side in the upcoming years.
