Player Bio

An all-rounder boasting of great qualities, William Michael Harry Rhodes is a professional English cricketer who is a current skipper of Warwickshire in both the County Championship and One-Day Cup this season.

Rhodes made his domestic debut for Yorkshire in a List A match against Nottinghamshire on May 5th, 2013, and was restricted to limited-overs format until 2005 when he made his first-class debut against MCC on March 22, 2015.

Having switched from Yorkshire in search of greater first-team opportunities, he slotted brilliantly into the Bears team in his first season in 2018. Rhodes became an immediate linchpin of the side and formed a rock-solid opening alliance with Dom Sibley, a partnership which the pair continued just as impressively in 2019.

Rhodes shot to fame in the 2019 domestic season as the all-rounder amassed 770 runs, including five half-centuries and a century, in County Championship Division One. He also took 15 wickets with his right-arm medium pace, including first-class career-best figures of 5-17 against champions Essex.

A versatile opener, Rhodes was appointed as the skipper at the start of the 2020 season and became one of the youngest players ever to lead the Bears, One of the best career highlights as the skipper came in August 2020 when hit a career-best 142 not out as Warwickshire made a strong start in their Bob Willis Trophy match against Worcestershire. Ahead of the 2020 season, Rhodes signed a contract extension which will see him at Warwickshire till the end of 2013.
