Player Bio

Former England U-19 and Lions seamer, Nathan Liam Buck is a professional English cricketer who joined Northamptonshire ahead of the 2017 season having begun his county career at Leicestershire. Buck quickly appeared on the radar of the national setup in his younger years and was rewarded with places in the England Under-19s and England Lions sides.

He has shown promise from a young age starting in a strong England Under 19s squad that featured the likes of Joe Root, Jos Buttler, and Ben Stokes. He was England’s leading wicket-taker in the 2010 U-19 World Cup with 13 victims and that season went on to take 49 wickets in the domestic scene.

A class with the red-ball, Buck has claimed over 250 Championship wickets as he approaches his 100th appearance. More than a handy lower-order batsman, Buck scored his maiden first-class 50 during the summer of 2019 hitting 53 at Sophia Gardens against Glamorgan.

Buck moved to Wantage Road from Lancashire in 2017 and extended his contract which will the seamer remain with the county until the conclusion of the 2022 summer.
