Northampton red-ball captain, Adam Rossington is a prolific wicket-keeper batsman who has shown promise at a very young age on the international stages. It’s not just with the bat where Rossington has excelled. Behind the stumps, he has proved to be a fine gloveman with over 250 career dismissals across all forms of the game.
A Middlesex product, Rossington fitted straight into Northamptonshire in 2014 and became a vital part of the team in a couple of years. Impressive with both bat and gloves, he earned a full-time contract with the club and was part of the team which reached the T20 Vitality Blast finals in 2015 and 2016.
Rossington boasts a first-class batting average of 35.33 while scoring his runs in T20 cricket at a strike-rate of 139.2. He initially took over as the club’s four-day skipper midway through the 2019 season, with Northamptonshire at the time struggling in the County Championship’s second tier. By the end of the campaign, he led the side to a surprise promotion to the first division.
Immensely talented, Rossington has a lot of influence in county cricket. Yet to represent his country, he would be hoping to crack into the highly competitive England team in the upcoming years.
