Weighell scored a brisk 38 in the second innings and Leicestershire needed 148 to win the game. But an inspired bowling performance from Weighell, picking up his first-class best of 7 for 32 ensured that Leicester was bundled out for a mere 101.

A promising young player who graduated from the Durham cricket academy, Weighell was actually released by the club in 2014, but he regained fitness playing for Northumberland to win another chance at Durham.

In 2016, he bagged his maiden first-class five-wicket haul against Warwickshire, finishing the match with figures of 9 for 130.

Weighell was an integral member of the Durham T20 side that reached the Quarter-finals of the 2018 T20 Blast.

A gutsy all-round cricketer, Weighell struggled with back problems in the initial playing days, but he overcame it and became a crucial member for Durham across all three formats.
