Player Bio

A right-handed middle order batsman, George Anthony Bartlett is an English cricketer who plays for Somerset county in the England domestic competition. Bartlett graduated from the Somerset academy and broke into the first team in 2017.

He made his first class debut for Somerset against Warwickshire in 2017 and it took him two years to properly solidify his place in the county team.

Bartlett announced his arrival with a classy 179 for England Lions against India in the Youth Test series in Nagpur in 2017. It was the highest score by an England Under-19 player overseas, eclipsing Nasser Hussain’s record of 170 against Sri Lanka in 1987.

After a string of impressive performances in the 2018 domestic season, Bartlett finally cemented his permanent place in the Somerset squad and became an integral part of the County side.

A gutsy cricketer, Bartlett is one of the best players produced by the Somerset academy in recent years. He is a calm character out in the middle and hardly gets unfazed by the activities surrounding him.
